With the changing end of August light coupled with the morphing colours of a landscape of reddening leaves, harvest fields and autumnal fruits it's a great time to consider the working environment where we have to feel our most comfortable and inspired to get the best from ourselves and co-workers.
This occurred to me recently while reading a discussion about working in an office environment on LinkedIn, where some points were made about the power of branding a space properly. And how true it is, the office space is a reflection of the work that is carried out there. A poorly lit dungeon is never going to produce the quality of a clean, comfortable well decorated space that mirrors the name over the door. The art within this space is essential as the visual glue that gels this together.
Quality paintings and the brand is potent, poorly framed cheap prints and it's obvious that this operation cuts corners. In between these two extremes lies a world of potential, for the range of work out there by artists has something suited to every budget. So as the kids head back to school and your time becomes your own again, think about making that work space a place you enjoy.
